In the summer of 2001, I took
an early retirement package from Souris Valley School Division. We
moved to Winnipeg where Bev returned to the insurance business. As part
of my early retirtement incentive package I couldn't wotk in the
provincial school system for a period of a year. But I was able
to take a job with Sergeant Tommy Prince School in Scanterbury - a
federal reserve school.
We
rented an apartment on the 9th
floor of 600 Setter St. near Sturgeon Creek, just off Portage.
As Bev's job was
downtown, we moved to 555
Colony Square, just a block away from The Bay. Here's the view from our
16th floor balcony. I car-pooled to
Scanterbury with Jennifer Johnson.

Shortly after moving to Winnipeg
we
spent a weekend with Donna and Dave. We visited the Narrows and Steep Rock. We spent the night at Ashern
Bev and I made good use of the nearby beaches at Winnipeg
Beach and
Patricia Beach.
Although we moved to Grenfell on June 30, we also spent quite a bit of
time at Hnausa and the Gimli area that summer.
We spent a few days at Grand Beach.
Donna and Dave joined us for a night.
