Chapter 4: The Empty Nest : Page 7 /  Willowdale

In June of 2006 we moved in a smaller (and cheaper) apartment on Willowdale. Jonah had recently found a good job with Zellers and moved to an apartment on the 1500 block 26th .

2007 began with me finishing his third year of contract work with the Historic Places Initiative and Bev working for Ora Dental Studios. I had nearly finished reports on the Heritage Sites in the Westman area and future opportunities in the field would likely not tie us down to this corner of the province.  Geoff was working in management at the Tavern United, a Canad Inns operation in downtown Winnipeg, while Jonah seemed to have found the perfect job and lived just a few minutes away.

I won tickets to see the Who through KX96 after mastering the skill-testing question. I felt like Cliff Clavin when he pulled the category "Post Office" on Jeopardy.

That said, the Who ain't what they once was - but still not bad for old guys.

At the end of April we moved to Gimli, something we've wanted to do for some time. My work at the time involved sites throughout the province, predominantly in the Interlake and Parkland areas. The work is done at home with the exception of a few days a month visiting sites.  We were able to get a condo on the beach and we do enjoy the view.
