Hnausa  Campground

Our favourite camping spot over the past three decades. I think we discovered it while roaming the Interlake in 1994. THis was before it became a Provincial Park. What caught our attention was that almost every site was close to the lake and a great beach. It was also not very busy.

In the early days they hadn't developed the sites right alongside the lake, but the views were still great.

Sometime in the mid 90's they opened sites right along the lake.

As it became more developed we sometimes couldn't get lakeside, but the spots were still great.

Sometimes the traffic on the lake was unusual.

The flood years (2011 - 12) damaged the lakeside spots and they were replaced by a dike.  By then the place had become more popular and less appealing to us.

Grand Beach

While we visited Grand Beach and area often, we didn't usually camp. The campsites are not near the beach. We did camp there with our boys, and with Donna and Dave, and on our own.

Winnipeg Beach

We camped often at Winnipeg Beach after the new campgound opened in about 2010. It was very convienient - near the downtown and near the beach. The down side is that it was very "developed" - more suited to Motor Homes etc. and consequently more busy and noisy.

Here & There

In our early days camping was not a big part of our life, but we sometimes cmaped with friends and family.

We remember camping at Clear Lake with Leigh Moore & Carol, at Minnedosa with Minnedosa 1976 with Dennis & Wendy Richards, at Curran Park, at  Curran Park, at Max Lake  & William Lake  with Donna and Dave & Linda and Arthur, at Sandy Lake while visiting Dennis & Gwenda.
