James Wallace (b. 1820, Scotland)  married   Hannah Carter in 1858 (b 1831 Scotland)

James Wallace was born in 1820. When James was thirteen years old he left his home in Scotland to become a sailor. He never returned to Scotland to live but did go back a number of times to visit. James sailed around the world five times. When he was sailing ships on the Great Lakes he bought some land at Hull, Ontario and made this his home. He had only lived there for about a year when  he became restless so he sold his land to his his Barbara. When she married she sold the land, the Eddie Match Company is now on that land. James bought land about eighteen miles from Owen Sound, Ontario after he left Hull.
In 1858 James Wallace married Hannah Carter from England. They were married in Ontario and lived about four miles west of Beokley, Ontario

John and Mary came out to Manitoba. In 1887 James bought the farm at Golden Stream. They built a six room log house not quite a quarter of a mile from our house. They tore it down when they built the one that is there now. The one they built was a two storey brick house, top floor had five bedrooms and bathroom, main floor had kitchen, pantry, living-room and parlour. There is a staircase going up to second floor from the kitchen as well as one going from the front door, there is a stained glass window in the parlour.
Bob Wallace went out to Vancouver in 1890, he was a carpenter. Bob married Elizabeth Fraser at Vancouver. They had one son and one daughter, the boy was born in 1901 but not sure when the girl was born.
James Wallace farmed at Golden Stream like his brother John. He farmed where Earl Wallace now lives, about 1/4 mile from our farm. James was Earl’s father, he married Annie Bowles in 1915 and they had four sons and two daughters.
Bill (William) was a harness maker and lived in a number of towns in Manitoba but stayed at Arden the longest. Bill married Margaret Boyce in 1899.
