Wallace Family Tree

John Wallace (b. 1860, Scotland)  married  Mary Fleger in 1858 (b 1831 Scotland)

James Wallace was born in 1820. When James was thirteen years old he left his home in Scotland to become a sailor. He never returned to Scotland to live but did go back a number of times to visit. James sailed around the world five times. When he was sailing ships on the Great Lakes he bought some land at Hull, Ontario and made this his home. He had only lived there for about a year when  he became restless so he sold his land to his his Barbara. When she married she sold the land, the Eddie Match Company is now on that land. James bought land about eighteen miles from Owen Sound, Ontario after he left Hull.
In 1858 James Wallace married Hannah Carter from England. They were married in Ontario and lived about four miles west of Beokley, Ontario

"John and Mary had one son and three daughters, Robert Malcolm, December 8th, 1892, Mabel, 1890, Minnie,1894, Grace,1896.
Minnie and Grace were both married in our farm house.
Robert married Mary Ellen Flegar on April 3rd,1919. They were married at Glendale, Manitoba.
Mary was born at Huffington, Ontario. When she was two years old her parents moved to Glendale, a few years later they moved to Springhill. Mary had six brothers and three sisters. Wesley (Edmonton), Archie (Neepawa), Edgar (Neepawa). Johnny died in 1913 and Angus died when he was one. Irvin (Birnie), Gladys (Port Alberni), Beth (Prince Albert) and Annie who died in 1953.
Rob and Mary moved to his parents farm and his parents moved to Gladstone. The Lenton’s live in the house now."
